SMHA Section 8 9/1 to 9/17
The Springfield Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program will accept applications for families who wish to qualify for one, two, three, four, and five bedroom units beginning September 1st through September 17th, 2010. This program provices rental assistance in the private housing market for very-low income families. SMHA will not accept walk-in applications. Community Health Chat 9/9
Tri-county Community Action will be hosting a Community Health Chat with free blood pressure and sugar screenings at their office located at 125 East Patterson Avenue in Bellefontaine. There will be an "All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner" on Saturday, September 10th from 4 to 7PM at the North Hampton Lions Den. Menu includes all you can eat spaghetti, salad, roll, dessert, and drink. R.S.S. Golf Benefit Battle Against Cancer Best Ball Scramble 9/25
The R.S.S. Golf Benefit is a fundraiser for Randy Smith of Urbana, Ohio, who has been diagnosed with Thymic cancer. Thymic cancer is of the Thymus gland. The golf scramble will be held on Saturday, September 25th at 8AM at Indian Springs Golf Club, 11111 State Route 161 in Mechanicsburg. Cost is $200 per team, $50 per person, and $50 to sponsor a golf hole. This is a federal USDA food and nutriction program serving nutritionally at-risk, income eligible adults.
