6th Annual Bike Sunday 8/31
River of Life Christian Center, 775 Washington Avenue in Urbana is hosting the 6th Annual Biker Sunday on August 31st. Bikers will be treated to breakfast at 9AM - you may also register at that time for a ride through Urbana after church led by the Sheriff. The service begins at 10:30 - former OSU defensive tackle Joel Penton will speak - there will be door prizes and a free lunch. Every biker and rider will receive a free T-shirt. Car Show/Pancake Breakfast 8/30
The Starz and Carz Open Class Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show is Saturday, August 30th at the Subway in North Hampton on Route 41. Registration starts at 9AM cost is $10 before 10AM - after 10AM, the cost is $15. The show will run until 3PM. There will also be a Pancake Breakfast at the North Hampton Lions Club from 6AM to Noon. All proceeds from these events will enable the two time national champion Springfield F.C. Starz Competition Cheerleading Squad to travel to Orlando to compete in the NCAA Champs Bowl.
Tribute to the King 8/21 at 2PM "Tribute to the King" features Dwight Icenhower and The Promiseland Band - they will perform on Sunday, September 21st at 2PM on the front lawn of the I.O.O.F. Gracie Crable has been diagnosed with a rare disease - Paroxymal Kineigenice Dyskenesia - which causes involuntary movements and jerking - she can have up to 100 atacks a day. A benefit is being held for Gracie on Saturday, September 6th from 11AM to 6PM at Susie's Lighthouse Cafe, 1776 Lagonda Avenue in Springfield. Money will be used to take Gracie to a specialist in Rochester, New York. There will be live music, karaoke, corn hole, 50/50 drawing and door prizes. A cook out meal will be available for $5. Kidney Transplant Fundraiser 8/30
Twenty-three year old Justin Sharp of Springfield is in need of a kidney transplant and on Saturday, August 30th from 12 to 7PM - there will be a benefit to raise money for the operation. The event will be held at AMVETS Post #25, 1945 Kenton Street in Springfield. Everyone is welcome. There will be raffles, a bake sale, games and food. A blood drive will be held from 9AM to 1PM. Justin's 21-year-old half-brother, Harry Haynes, is donating one of his kidneys for the transplant.

FEAST has received a grant from Logan and Champaign County Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services Board to present "The Successful ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyper Activity) Student" on Thursday, September 18th at the Champaign County Community Center Auditorium. The trainer will be Joyce Kubik. Kubik is the President of Bridge to Success and the author of Plan for Success. She is an adult with ADHD and has raised ADHD children. "Drive Away Child Abuse" NASCAR 8/23
A live projection of the NASCAR Bristol Race will be held on August 23rd at Knights of Columbus on Bird Road in Springfield. Lee Riley and B.C. from the Wyler Racing Show (WING-AM) will be there too. The event is a fundraiser for Clark County Child Advocacy Center and Rocking Horse Center.
